Payment method has no SAGE payment method

What you see

On a document that did not issue: in the admin, Documents (the document shows as failed and this title is its probable cause) and on the Home card "Needs attention". At the till, the zrsPOS tile shows it as a line under the sale. The title is exactly: Payment method has no SAGE payment method.

What happened

The sale (or refund) was paid by a payment method with no SAGE payment method of its own, and there is no default SAGE payment method. zrsPOS never lets SAGE choose (it would book it as cash).

On Payments and on Home the same code also names three related cases, each with its own title:

  • Payment method has no SAGE payment method of its own: a default is set, so these sales do issue, but on the default, which may be the wrong means of payment in SAF-T (for example a card booked as cash).
  • The SAGE payment method no longer exists: the SAGE payment method this method is booked on was deleted in SAGE, so every such sale would fail.
  • The SAGE payment method is inactive: it is inactive in SAGE, so every such sale would fail.
  • The default SAGE payment method no longer exists or is inactive: the same, for the one every method without one of its own is booked on.

What to do

  1. Open Payments.
  2. Find the payment method named on the document (for example a gateway or "Custom").
  3. Choose its SAGE payment method, the one that matches how the money arrives (cash, card, transfer...). Or choose the Default SAGE payment method for methods you do not set.
  4. Save, then press Try again on the document in Documents; it issues if the cause is fixed.

Can zrsPOS do it for you?

In part. zrsPOS can create a missing SAGE payment method after you confirm, but it never picks one for you. You choose the SAGE payment method of each payment method in Payments, and zrsPOS saves it. Nothing is chosen automatically.
