The tablets

The tablet checklist: what each store needs on its tablets, checked by zrsPOS itself.

A tablet is what Shopify POS runs on at the till. The checklist is on each tablet's page, under Settings › Stores › the store › its tablets, and shows what is already done. Its printer is chosen there too (Printing & delivery). The items zrsPOS can see tick themselves when a tablet calls zrsPOS; you confirm the one it cannot see.

Item	How it is checked
Tiles on the grid	Seen when a tablet of the store opens the zrsPOS tiles. There are four: NIF (the sale), Documents (documents and printer), Till and, with Tax Free on, Tax Free.
Post-sale block	Seen when the zrsPOS block opens on a post-sale or order screen.
Print app paired	Only when the store's printer uses the print app: seen when the app contacts zrsPOS.
A printer per tablet	Every tablet seen has a printer (its own, or the store's main printer) or is marked no printer.
Register sessions denied in Shopify POS roles	You confirm it, after setting every role to Denied (below). zrsPOS cannot see this setting.

What Working means

A store's tablets are Working when every tablet has its tiles and its post-sale block. A tablet that has never opened zrsPOS is not in the list yet: the page says "no tablet at this store has opened a zrsPOS tile yet" until one does.

Problems

Each one has a page that says what you see, what happened and what to do.

Adding the tiles

Installing the app makes the tiles available but does not place them. On each tablet: Shopify POS → Edit the grid → Add tile → the zrsPOS tiles. The steps with pictures are in At the POS.

Adding the post-sale and order block

Shopify cannot add this block for you. The tablet's page detects where it has not been seen and shows exactly how to add it: in Shopify POS, open an order screen → Edit → add the zrsPOS block (the steps with pictures are in At the POS). Until the block is added, the NIF and Documents tiles show the document of the last sale instead of the one you are looking at. Add the block on every tablet.

Denying register sessions in Shopify POS roles

zrsPOS's Till tile is the only drawer, and zrsPOS opens and closes Shopify POS's register sessions. In Shopify, Point of Sale › Roles, set every role (managers and sellers) to Denied for starting and ending sessions and for "View and adjust current payment tracking session". Do it on the switch day, before the first sale: see Till close. Then confirm it in the checklist.

Each tablet's printer

Each store has a default printer. A tablet with no printer of its own prints there. On the POS, the Documents tile → Printer picks this tablet's printer; in the checklist you can change any tablet's or set no printer. A tablet appears the first time it opens a zrsPOS tile.

On the tablet itself

Every action gives feedback. Printing with no working printer says so and tells staff where else to print; staff never see technical text, only a plain sentence and a code to give the manager. See At the POS.
